Club Spotlight: Rhode Warriors

Tell us about your club!
Rhode Warriors was founded by Dan Jester in 2024 to build a vibrant community of runners united by a passion for progress and excellence in the sport. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment that champions perseverance and wellness, welcoming both competitive athletes and casual enthusiasts. We strive to inspire every member to achieve their personal best while fostering lasting connections and a shared love for running.

Who is your club open to?
We are open to all ages, all genders, all experience levels, and both road and trail runners. Some of our members may not go for more than one weekly run with the group while others are training 40+ miles per week in preparation for half marathons, trail races, etc. During each run we group up based on how far and fast everyone wants to go to ensure we all get what we need out of the training while still building our team atmosphere and keeping each other accountable.

When and where do you typically meet to run?
We meet every Saturday morning at 7:30 AM at the Blackstone River Bikeway for our “road” run. We also meet once/week at the Monastery in Cumberland for a trail run. That alternates from Tuesday Evenings at 5:30 PM when daylight allows for it to Wednesday Mornings at 7:00 AM when it doesn’t.

Do you host any other non-running events?
We haven’t yet but plan to!

Aside from the Grand Prix, are there any other races that your club attends/competes in as a team?
We haven’t yet but plan to!

Does your club offer any coaching or assistance with training plan development?
Dan offers general coaching and training plan development for interested runners.

Does your club support any philanthropic efforts?
Not at this time.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your club?
