Battle Royale – Team
In the Battle Royale team category, Run Newport made the trek upstate worth it as they secured the win for the fourth time this year. The Adult Sentinel Striders again gave them a run for their money as they finished just 10 points back. The closest finish of the day was ironically between two Cumberland-based teams that know one another quite well: the Rhode Warriors and Phantoms Farms Brewing Flyers. The Warriors came out on top by a slim 2 point margin, but the Flyer’s performance still tied their best yet this year. Rounding out the Top 5 with their second straight fifth place finish was the Gansett Run Club.
In the overall standings, the Top 5 teams again maintained their positions. Run Newport continues to lead and has now widened the gap back to the Adult Sentinel Striders to over 600 points. Currently sitting in third place by a very comfortable 800 point margin are the Rhode Warriors while Women on the Run – Barrington (4th) and the Gansett Run Club (5th) are separated by just 36 points.

Points Chase – Team
In the Points Chase team challenge, Run Newport and the Adult Sentinel Striders continue their pursuit of the Gold Tier and are now joined by the Rhode Warriors, who just earned Silver Status. The Gansett Run Club is leading the charge towards the Silver Tier alongside Women on the Run – Barrington, the Wickford Run Club, and the Phantom Farms Brewing Flyers, who just earned Bronze Status. Six teams are currently working towards the Bronze Tier with the Westerly Track & Athletic Club and Wakefield Run Club both less than 1,000 points away.

Battle Royale – Open Female
In the Battle Royale Open Female category, Jasmine Trott of the Phantom Farms Brewing Flyers made quite the splash in her RIGP debut. Her outstanding time of 22:38 not only won her the race by two full minutes, but set a new RIGP race record by nearly two minutes as well. Wickford Run Club’s Erin Hurley took runner-up honors, continuing her own strong freshman campaign, while Corinne Pereira of Women on the Run – Barrington notched her fourth straight podium finish. Rounding out the Top 5 was Katharine Walker of the Rhode Warriors and Julia Fagundes of Run Newport.
In the overall standings, Erin Hurley maintains the lead with an impressive 4,014 points. However, Corinne Pereira and Katharine Walker have both made up significant ground and are now lurking in second and third, respectively. Currently in fourth and fifth, and separated by just 26 points, are Run Newport teammates Margaret Altes and Alexis Peters Corseri.

Battle Royale – Open Male
In the Battle Royale Open Male category, we saw the closest finish of the year so far with first and second place separated by just 3 seconds. Run Newport’s Christopher Collet again came out on top, but this time he was pushed all the way to the line by RIGP newcomer, Ryan Slaney of the Phantom Farms Brewing Flyers. Behind them was a trio of Adult Sentinel Striders, who again utilized pack running to maximize team performance. Ken Vinacco nabbed third, Alex Whatley took fourth, and Matthew Vinacco snagged fifth in his 2026 RIGP debut.
In the overall standings, Alex Whatley has regained the lead over Alex Tripoli of the Rhode Warriors by just over 100 points. Adult Sentinel Strider Ryan Pagliaro moves up two places into third while Christopher Collet makes an even bigger jump from outside the Top 10 to fourth. Rounding out the Top 5 is Dylan Brobisky of the Gansett Run Club, who also moved up two spots.

Battle Royale – Masters Female
In the Battle Royale Masters Female category, Nicole Greene of the Rhode Warriors earned her first RIGP victory in decisive fashion with a winning margin of 8+ age grade points. Behind her was close battle for second as Run Newport’s Beth Blendell edged out Rhode Warrior Blythe Gould. Closing out the Top 5 in a similarly tight race was a pair of Phantom Farms Brewing Flyers: Kim Chula-Maguire (4th) and Laura Nottie (5th).
In the overall standings, things have shaken up considerably now that individuals’ lowest scores have been dropped (reminder: an individual’s overall point total is calculated by adding up their four best performances). Beth Blendell has jumped all the way up from 5th to 1st while Laura Nottie and Claudia Maiorana of Women on the Run – Barrington slide back to 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Tristian ViensRoderick of the Phantom Farms Brewing Flyers holds onto 4th with a narrow 67 point lead over Brett Ely of Women on the Run – Barrington, who currently sits in 5th.

Battle Royale – Masters Male
In the Battle Royale Masters Male category, we saw yet another showdown between Adrian Massie of Run Newport and Jeff Walker of the Westerly Track & Athletic Club with the two men again separated by just a few age grade points. Massie notched the win – his fourth of the year – while Walker earned runner-up honors by a comfortable margin of 8 AG points. Run Newport’s Michael St. Thomas again ran well to take third for the second straight race. Closing out the Top 5 were Chad Greene (4th | Rhode Warriors) and Bill Slaney (5th | Phantom Farms Flyers), who were separated by just half an AG point.
In the overall standings, Adrian Massie has returned to the top for the first time since Clamdigger with a perfect score of 4,000 points. Jeff Walker and Chad Greene both move up one spot to now hold second and third, respectively. Run Newport’s Adam Stadel currently sits in fourth while Lynn Cousineau of the Gansett Run Club holds onto fifth place.
