The Arnold Mills 4 Mile Road Race and accompanying parade has been a Fourth of July tradition in the Cumberland community for decades. Now in its 58th year, the road race regularly attracts the state’s top talent and has even hosted world class athletes such as U.S. Olympians Matt Centrowitz Sr. and Pete Pfitzinger. The moderately hilly four mile course offers a unique challenge to those accustomed to Rhode Island’s relatively flat, coastal terrain and an automatic PR to anyone who is new to the distance!
